Kevin Moore
LAP-C, NCAC1, CASAC-T

Kevin deeply appreciates the members of NCADD for the recognition bestowed on him today. Kevin earned his CASAC certification at Westchester Community College under the tutelage of Dr. Richard Jazzwinski. He began his career as an intern at Positive Directions, an outpatient program located at 417 South Broadway, Yonkers, New York. He was then hired by Mr. John Rubin, an exceptional man in the field of substance abuse treatment, and the director of St. Vincent’s OARS program. Kevin remained with the OARS program for four years as a counselor. In 2018 Kevin had the good fortune of meeting and being hired by an amazing woman and owner of the Long Island Center for Recovery, Mrs. Shawn Hamilton. LICR is a wonderful and highly regarded facility located at 320 West Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, New York.
Kevin’s passion is helping all who suffer from alcoholism and drug addiction, including referral to LICR for in-patient care and counseling. Kevin’s holistic approach to treatment includes compassionate counseling for families and friends affected by their loved one’s addiction.
Kevin would not be where he is today without the support, love and encouragement of his family and friends. There are two notable men who made perhaps the biggest difference in Kevin’s life, who require special mention here. His dear friend, mentor, and his biggest fan, John Joseph Patrick Scully - a giant of a man. Kevin would be remiss if he failed to mention Bill Troy, the current EAP for the Yonkers Board of Education. Mr. Troy has consistently guided, encouraged and has shown Kevin how to be a more empathetic and compassionate substance abuse counselor. For all this he is deeply grateful and humbled.
